For game 3, both Derek Fisher Guard of the Los Angeles Lakers and Rafer Alston Guard of the Orlando Magic are suspended. Here's what happened:
Rafer Alston was trying to block Eddie House, and Eddie House scored on him. After that, Alston just went up behind him and slapped him on the head.

Derek Fisher was up against Landry, then Luis Scola, Forward of the Rockets was coming up from behind, Fisher turned around, saw Scola, and elbowed him in the chest sending him to the floor.

So, what do you guys think? Should they have been suspended? Or was it just tough competition.

I believe it was just tought competition with Fisher. I think Rafer was being a bit too mean to the other players haha

I actually think that both did deserve to be suspended. As big a Laker fan that I am, and as much as this might hurt the Lakers, Fisher does deserve to be suspended. It's one thing if you're playing good defense and you hit the other players. It's another if you look behind you, take a step back, and elbow the guy in the chest. Of course there was intention. I don't think Fisher meant to hurt him or anything like that, he just wanted to send a message saying "You're not gonna mess around with me, I'll take you down if I have to." But still, it is a foul deserving of a suspension. Then on Alston's part, that was just a mental breakdown. If they score a three on you, you get back and play better D. Don't get frustrated and smack a guy. I mean, that's part of the playoffs for any sport, having that mental toughness to not do something stupid like that.

I didnt see what happened, but from what you wrote it sounds well deserved. You explained it very well in your second post and these suspensions seem well deserved. But how will this effect the outcome of the series? Will it spark up both teams? Will this become a series to watch even MORE?

I think for both the Magic and Lakers, it can go either way. Look at what happened last round. Dwight Howard got suspended for an elbow to a guys face, and the next game the Magic were expected to lose but they ended up beating Philadelphia. I think the same can happen this round, the Magic will want to prove more and end up winning. The Lakers I think have a higher chance of winning than the Magic even after the suspension. Not only did their little Guard Derek Fisher make Scola land flat on his ass, but they won. The Lakers are coming off a win and will want to prove more. So yeah, depending on the teams mentality, the games can go either way.
