It really baffles me how the Lakers know how to scout talent. Kobe Bryant was the 13th overall pick in the 1996 draft by the Charlotte Hornets. The Lakers traded Center Vlady Divac, their starter, for Kobe. In the end, that was a complete steal for the Lakers, because Kobe is now arguably the best Basketball players in the planet today. And then, they got Andrew Bynum in the 2005 Draft, 10th pick overall. Though Drew has not been as dominant as before his injury earlier this season, everybody sees his potential. He's 2 years younger than Dwight Howard, and everyone knows that Bynum has the potential to be as good as Howard in a couple of years. And most recently, last season the Lakers traded for Trevor Ariza and this year they got Shannon Brown, both, along with Bynum are really young, and the future of the Lakers. I mean, look at what Shannon Brown did against Utah from the 3-ping range. Brown wasn't the 3rd overall pick for nothing. Again, the Lakers know how to scout talent.

Phil certainly knows what he is doing. Nobody can argue that.

Seems like the Lakers are the equivalent to the N.E Patriots when it comes to scouting.

Not only Phil, Mitch Kuptchack(I doubt that's how you spell it), the general manager knows what he's doing too.

I agree with Notorious and Admin. What he is doing right now, is definitely working for the Lakers. So, I hope he keeps up great coaching for a long time.

But then again, I think it depends a lot on the team. Like the caliber of the team. If Shannon Brown got traded to the Lakers, one of the best teams in the history of the NBA, he's more likely to try better and show his skill. In Charlotte, he was barely getting any play time. I bet Charlotte is kicking themselves in the ass now haha.

Um, I'm not completely sure, I think this is suppose to be his last year. I know for a fact either this is his last year on his contract or next year is, but of course the Lakers want him to come back. And I do too. But Phil has already said he just wants to take it one year at a time for now. So if he does come back, he won't be wanting a big contract.

Lakers are gonna make their run now. If anyone's watching the game, witness the Lakers playing COMPETITIVE basketball. The first quarter was a joke.

I would be watching it, but there is no T.V. by my computer and I am doing work on the comp at the moment. I hope to get up there and watch the end of the game though. Because this is where Kobe takes over.

I am currently following the score with the MSR NBA Score Tracker
