So here comes the discussion. Kobe vs. LeBron... who is better?

Is LeBron James better than Kobe Bryant RIGHT NOW? I am not ready to say that LeBron James is the best player in the NBA right now. I think James is amazing and has the most potential out of anyone to be the greatest of all time. However, I do not feel he is the best player in the NBA right now. Yes he was the MVP for the regular season, and I agree with that. But, I dont think he is even the MVP of his team when it comes to the playoffs. He can have great games, but it all comes down to how he plays in the closing minutes of a game and is he a closer like Kobe Bryant is.

From quarters 1-3 I think LeBron is better than Kobe, but in the 4th quarter is where Kobe takes the best player award in my book. Sure, LeBron hit that game winning 3 pointer in Game 2 of the Conference Finals against the Magic, but I think that was one of the luckiest shots he has ever made, it looks like he wasnt even expecting it to go in himself!

I am not saying LeBron can not one day be a closer, but up to this date in 2009 I do not feel that he is the closer he needs to be to compete with Kobe Bryant, MJ, Larry Bird and many more.

LeBron James and Alex Rodriquez are probably the most similar athletes in their respected sports. Great, amazing, MVP type players but have failed to prove themselves when the time matters.

And its clear that LeBron is having an INCREDIBLE playoffs this year, but Kobe is still showing why he is the best in the game today.

I have to disagree with you Admin, LeBron is definately without a doubt the MVP of his team during the playoffs. The Cavs wouldn't even be this deep in the playoffs without James. Is he the best player in the world? I don't think so, not right now. In a couple of years, without a doubt he will be, but right now Kobe Bryant is the #1 player in the world.

Well I do agree that the Cavs would not be here if it wasnt for LeBron, but I also feel that in order for them to advance its on Mo Williams and Delonte West. I think they are just as important to this team as LeBron is. Now obviously every team has more than 1 person needed to go this far and advance. However, I just feel that the Cavs MUST have these two players show up in order for them to be great. Where as I think the Lakers different players can have good/bad nights, but the teams success is all on Kobe.

Not sure if I illustrated my point but I hope it got across lol.

I agree with what you say about the Lakers. But again, yeah Mo Williams and Delonte West need to step it up and play better. But if LeBron doesn't show up, the Cavs are nothing. And that's why without a doubt he's the MVP of his team, maybe even the playoffs because again, the Cavs would not be where the yare if it were not for LeBron James. Haha don't get me wrong, I chose Kobe over LeBron any day, but I also recognize LeBron for what he is and what he does.
