| Quote Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth took full responsibility for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida and began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter. Stallworth also reached a confidential financial settlement to avoid a potential lawsuit from the family of 59-year-old Mario Reyes, according to Stallworth attorney Christopher Lyons. Reyes was struck and killed March 14 by Stallworth, who was driving his black 2005 Bentley after a night drinking at a swanky hotel bar. I am sorry but this does not sound right to me. Donte' Stallworth is a grown man and what he did was wrong. We teach our children not to drink and drive but when they see a famous football player doing it and KILLING someone, and in my eyes is getting off way too easy! When I found out about this I thought it was outrageous! I dont know who to blame for this, the family of Mario Reyes or our legal system? He should not be above our laws because he has money! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl....adlines

| Yeah it's wrong what happened, but Stallworth knows what he did is wrong. It still pisses me off how all these athletes, they have so much money, yet, they still go do stupid stuff. But even though this is wrong, I don't think they are being unfair just cuz he's a famous athlete. They DID reach a plea bargain, and that means that Stallworth plead guilty and the judge gave him a break. That happens all the time to EVERYONE. Plus, the money didn't affect the outcome because they reached a financial agreement after the case. That agreement was just so Stallworth won't get sued. It still pisses me off what he did, but technically, according to what happens to other people under the same situation, he DIDN'T get off easy.

| Again, I don't think the money has anything to do with it. You've seen countless times where people get off easy. He did get off easy, but that's not different from what other people get. What I'm saying is he didn't get special treatment. But again, it's still messed up what he did. I say he should go to jail for a long time. But the time he got is about the same as many others would have gotten under the same situation, that's all I'm saying.

| 30 days is like the minimum. People with this charge get more time than this.

| I completely agree. But the family wanted money instead of him spending time in jail. He only got 30 days because he is giving the family this money.

| It sucks, but if the family wants the money then they should have it. He should stay in jail but the family probably needs the money.

| Again, if you read the article, the family would have gotten money no matter what. They did a private agreement on how much money the family would get instead of the family suing him. And yeah just because there SHOULD NOT be any plea bargains for situations like this, that doesn't mean there isn't.

| In New York they recently put a guy up for murder for drinking and driving and killing someone...this guy should not be getting off that easy. 30 days in Jail is a lot different than any time spent in prison.
